Leadership
ANF is led by practitioners who have held executive responsibility at major energy companies, listed corporations and financial institutions. The depth of that experience is the firm's principal asset.
The group’s experience is concentrated where ANF trades. It covers upstream and downstream petroleum, refined products and energy derivatives; commodities, mining, agriculture and financial markets; and the banking and capital markets that finance them. It was gained holding executive responsibility inside the industry rather than advising on it from outside — at Shell, including responsibility for Upstream Africa, and at Sinopec and Addax Petroleum; and across commodities, shipping and manufacturing at Adsteam and British Tobacco Amatil.
Alongside it sits the financial and legal depth a transaction of this kind needs: financial strategy, treasury and capital management across structured finance, commodities, petroleum, property and infrastructure; mergers and acquisitions in global energy, at chief legal officer level; and corporate governance, commercial law, regulatory compliance and risk management.
The delivery side is equally senior. Executive responsibility in infrastructure, energy distribution and media has been held at United Energy, Telstra and Fairfax. Alongside it: major project management, acquisitions, town planning and asset repositioning; premium residential, mixed-use and urban renewal development through Kokoda Property; operational leadership across complex multi-site organisations; and information and communications technology, cybersecurity and data protection.
That range is why ANF can sell in its own name, structure the payment around it and carry the risk itself, without handing any part of the work to an outside adviser. Members of the group have chaired companies listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ and the Canadian exchanges.
